Customer Rating: Summary: It's OK. Comment: The book is OK. It is thorough in the chapter as how to implement the models in excel. That can be fun if you like to set up and solve problems. The only thing about the text is the problems in the back of each chapter. The problems would be very hard to solve, because the problems are not exactly how the set up is within the chapter.
When I was in class and was given homework problems, it was very difficult in determining the set up. When the class saw they answers the next class they were different than the set up in the chapter. Don't expect the answers to be like the chapter. There is always some other additions to the model or it may be set up a different way. It might be appropriate to ask the professor to go over some problems in class so you can gain a clearer understanding of Operations Modeling.
Customer Rating: Summary: Spreadsheet Modeling and Decision Analysis (with CD-ROM and Microsoft Project 2003 120 day version) Comment: This book was received in a timely fashion and Amazon is continuing to make sure their customers are completely satisfied.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Good Book for Finance/IT majors Comment: This book does what it sets out to do: teach spreadsheet modeling. I'm only on the third chapter, but the author does a good job including step by step instructions on how to create winning models. The author is also very easy to understand. So if you're going to be doing optimization and modeling in your work, I highly recommend this book.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great book, and includes @RISK Comment: Ragsdale really makes spreadsheet modeling accessible to real-world business situations. It was a great asset to my MBA coursework. As a student, it came with a free student version of @RISK risk analysis software as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good practical text Comment: A good book for those studying decision making techniques or as a reference for managers looking to upgrade their skills
