Summary: not as advertised, only burns up to 4x...
Comment: when i received my shipment not only did it have small variations in pakaging, but it only burns 4x not at the advertised 16x, as described on the packaging and on the actual disk itself, when i put the disk in the only options im offered are 2.4x and 4x.. the first 4 i tried did burn so im not sure how many will turn out coasters. i thought i was getting a good after christmas deal, now i realize they were on sale because someone was trying to get rid of an overstock of 4x at no marginal loss. i feel like this was a blatant attempt to dump a bad product on a vulneral online purchase, because they know people are not likly to return the item as it is too much hassle. epic fail, i will never buy tdk again.

Summary: Not Always Reliable
Comment: I have bought these a number of times, but this last batch are mostly coasters. The extreme outside edge has a smattering of "sparkles" that seem to not want to enable burning on the last 10 percent of the disc. I will most likely NOT buy these again, due to the pile of discs in my trash. Previous orders have been excellent, but I will not chance another wasted order.

Summary: TDK no longer makes DVDs
Comment: I just wanted to tell people that after using TDK CDs and DVDs exclusively for many years with 100% reliability in Sony, Phillips and NEC DVD burners, the newest batch of TDKs I received was extremely disappointing. The new disks look completely different, the scratch resistant "label" side has been eliminated, and the blue dye used on the data side is darker than usual.
I did a search on the Internet and found that Imation bought the rights to the TDK DVD brand, and they must have closed down the former TDK factory and consolidated manufacturing. These are purely Imation disks now. My NEC burner had the worst problem with them. It wouldn't burn them at all. I updated the firmwire, and I am now able to burn them, but with mixed results. The burner will often eject some of the blank disks saying they're bad, but will later burn them after closing down and restarting Record Now. However, the "burn" is often not even, with circular differences in color like the rings of Saturn. The Phillips burners don't seem to have a problem with them. I haven't tried the Sony. The disks also no longer carry the "RW" logo (it doesn't stand for rewritable, it is the logo of the DVD+R consortium), so I guess Imation is not a member of the group.
Imation also bought the rights to make Memorex, HP, Sun, IBM, StorageTech and Exabyte DVDs, so I'm guessing that all of the disks are now basically the same now.
For the folks complaining that CMC Magnetics popped up in their burning software as the manufacturer of these disks, I've been told they make the aluminium blanks in the center of the disks and that a lot of companies buy them from CMC.
After being a loyal TDK customer dating back to my audio cassette and videocassette days, I'm now looking for a new DVD supplier because I can't trust these disks anymore.

Comment: I have used these DVD+R blanks for 2 weeks now and so far all blanks have recorded my projects without any problems or deffective disks.
100 discs is a lot to go through - I hope all disks are of the same good quality by the end of the spindle! I am really pleased and truly recommend this brand. A really great item for the price. Thank you again Amazon!
