Summary: great watch with lots of features
Comment: I love this watch, I have had a couple over the years, and just bought my third for $18.45 shipped.
It is not very stylish, so if you are the Seiko type, this may not be for you.
However, if need a watch with lots of useful features, this is a good one.
display shows day, date and month
has countdown timer with alarm
daily alarm has feature to set the alarm for a particular date (for the once-in-a-while early plane flight)
alarm is plenty loud enough to wake me up, unless its really buried under the covers (I put in on the night stand for critical wake up calls)
the battery lasts for years. The band eventually becomes brittle and breaks, but you can get replacements at Walmart or Long's Drugs.
I will continue to buy this watch as long as they make them (and save the Seiko for dress occasions)

Summary: Excellent watch
Comment: I used to buy G-shock Casio(because of a rough job), but they were too big for me. I like this Casio digital W71-1V better. I like that it has the Day of the week, etc. Example: SU 6-30. Some Casio's don't have all three. I like the light also. I have been buying Casio black watches like these for over 20 years and I will always buy this type of watch. The battery lasts years for me, but if you use the light and alarm alot, battery life might be different. The design has not changed and I love this classic design.

Summary: I LOVE THIS WATCH - and I'm a female :-)
Comment: I've been wearing this watch since high school (over 15 years ago). I bought it for track so I could pace my practices. I can't find any watch out there that has the countdown feature that repeats, so I can set it to ding at me every 3 minutes or 2 hours or whatever. I love the digital - it's easy to read in a pinch. And I'm not really aware of time, so the hourly alarm really helps me keep track. I do agree that it is not the most attractive watch - especially for a female, but I just can't get enough of this light-weight, easy to use watch. I've had probably 5 of this exact watch. I lost my last two and I've worn out the rest. I try to wear other watches.. analog, silver, gold... that are more fashionable, but I just can't break away from this watch. I was heartbroken when Target stopped selling it, and elated when I found it on the web. I'm excited to know it's a 20 year old design... that way I can be confident that it will be around for a while. If not, I'd buy 50 more so I could make sure I always had one! That's how much I LOVE this watch... I just ordered it off this site after being without it for a year (did I mention Target?) and I cannot wait for it to arrive!! I should have bought 2...

Summary: Great cheap watch even for a larger guy.
Comment: I have g shocks and they just are not comfortable. I used to have a similar watch- the f91, but stopped wearing it because I thought that it looked too small on my wrist (I am 6'2" and 240 pounds with large, thick arms). Besides appearance, I loved the f91. I was hoping to find a similar watch that would be just a little larger. I have found it! The W71-1v is just a couple of millimeters wider I think. But that couple of millimeters really brings it to an acceptable size even for a larger guy. I really love how comfortable it is. It has all of the necessary functions. The f91 used to switch back and forth to military time and this one doesn't. I could see the little dim light being slightly annoying, but not that big a deal. I can still see what time it is in the dark. I love the retro style. I barely ever use the light any ways. For any one looking for a great cheap comfortable watch then look no further!
