Customer Rating: Summary: A Watch -- and a Poor Man's PDA! Comment: I love this watch. I previously had a Casio Data Bank 150 and loved it! I had the 150 for about 6 years. Not bad for a less than $50 watch! When it finally began to have serious enough problems that the watch needed to be replaced, I already knew I needed the successor -- the Data Bank 300. (The 300 refers to the number of memory slots available in which phone numbers, names, and other short reminders can be stored.)
I called this watch the Poor Man's PDA -- and it is! Its great! I'm delighted with it.
Buy it... I bet you'll like it too!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great watch Comment: I have had this watch for a year now and it has been great. Since it is waterproof, I wear it all the time, in the shower or swimming. I went through two prior databank watches but this is the best. I store pin numbers, phone numbers, passwords and almost anything I might need to reference later.
Customer Rating: Summary: Casio Watch review Comment: This watch is not very accurate, on its manual it says +-15 a month
it is accualy +10 seconds a week to fast
Customer Rating: Summary: Replacement Watch Comment: My Casio tele/300 memo watch which I had for 12 years needed a fresh battery (the third one), but the jewelry sales person while installing the new battery didn't install properly and damaged it. I was happy to be able to replace with a new one which is the same model that I purchased 12 years ago and the price was cheaper then the original.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great watch for travelers Comment: I've owned one of these since I was in high school.. and that was back in the days when they still had black boards
Pro's
the watch is very easy to program and very intuative.
count down timer
repeatable event alarms
DST on off setting
multiple time zones
light can be set to flash when alarms sound
long battery life
non volital memory {you can change the battery and not lose data
low / small profile I've had data watches that sick out on your wrist so bad it's like wearing a ball and chain .. literally!
this watch is small fully functional and comfortable to wear
CON's
the book is about the size of your pinky.... but because the watch is so intuitive you really don't need it except for the special features
and I'm told you can download or print a full sized manual off Casio site
no PC or computer interface... this watch would be the bees knees if it had a PC connection similar to the Casio PC Unite.
no secured area for phone numbers.. lose your watch and anybody that finds it has all your phone numbers.. but hey maybe they'll call a friend and return your watch!!
with all that said
after 15 years of wearing one of these I had to change the battery twice
once right after I got it and again about seven years ago.
I wear my watch all the time and after all these years it still works fine but from use the letters had started to wear off...
so I figured my old watch had more that paid for itself and it was time to upgrade.. I figured after 15 years there MUST be a better watch out there..... well guess what.. there aint!!
