Summary: Thank God its not in my car
Comment: I bought this for my better half, it is a pile. Save your money and buy a passport or belltronics. It is better than nothing, but not good by any means.

Comment: Funny thing is, I got a speeding ticket the day before this arrived lol. But this has saved me so many times! I dont even realize im speeding and then it goes off and theres a cop. I dont think the range is really good, but if you have the sound on it'll catch it just in time. This isnt a scambler as it says, my friend is a cop and we tried it. this is well worth the money!

Comment: It's a radar detector.. and a laser detector...
It appears to do those things. I have no way of testing the laser scrambler feature, so we'll all have to just assume it's doing the trick.
Automatic doors at grocery stores set it off when I drive too near, as does the airport when I'm on a freeway near there.
I've had it go off a few times before I was able to see a police officer ahead, so it does seem to function for its intended purpose as well, and remind me to slow down.
Power cord is just barely long enough to reach from cig. lighter to windshield on 2002 acura tl.

Summary: Great CHEAP Radar Detector!
Comment: I bought mine almost 3 years ago from another site for around $50, and it still works and works great! I leave it on and in the sun with no damage to it thus far. I get anywhere from a half mile to almost 2 miles radius with mine (I'm guessing that maybe I got one of the possible very few "highly-effective" rather than "defective" models, lol! Anyway, I lucked out!). If you're a first-time radar detector buyer(like myself) and not looking to spend much, I'd recommend trying this one out to determine if it "gets the job done" before investing in one of the super-duper $250 models that talks and has all the bells and whistles that you may not even need or want.

Comment: I purchased this item for my partner for christmas and we believe that the scrambler doesn't work; because he drove by a drive smart speed detector and it registered the speed he was going. Finding this out now is a little to late.
