Summary: Exactly what I was looking for...
Comment: This is a great little scanner - I stress the word little! I'm mainly using this scanner as a means to create a digital library of all of my recipes...and I have thousands. The Pentax is so small it fits easily into my laptop bag (don't let dimensions mentioned deter you). I've not had any problems with the software that came with it. My only complaint would be that it sometimes pulls the papers through crooked and that it doesn't always register the paper thickness, but I can't hold that against this product because I am scanning in recipes that have been torn out of magazines with shiny paper, differing thicknesses, and sometimes with raw torn edges.
Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a durable, portable scanner.

Comment: I have been using this product at work for over a year. When going to clients all I have to do is scann the information I need instead of making photocopies of everything. It's a great tool for going paperless. So when my husband saw me using it he thought he would like it for his job which requires a lot of work orders and contracts. That gave me an idea for a Christmas present. He was very excited to get it and use it and when my kids saw how small and light weight it was and what it could do they all said it would be something they could use for school. It makes great color and black and white copies. Fantastic.

Summary: Fanstastic Design, Form, Fit and Function
Comment: I travel frequently and needed a portable scanner for my receipts and invoices. The Pentax DSmobile 600 exceeded my needs. The page feed is intelligent and the software excellent and easy to use. At home I am now using it instead of my desktop scanner, simply because it works better.
I seldom recommend products, but make an exception when they are clearly superior like this one.

Comment: Everyone! Save your money. If you need to quickly scan something, just use your digital camera! It will probably even come out higher quality!

Summary: Not Vista compatible
Comment: The scanner works great. The accompanying software from NewSoft, PageManager, is not Vista compatible and they have no upgrades for this version on their website. Very frustrating to discover at the end of 2008. Time to get with the program...
